Howard Mooney, President & CEO
Howard began his career in financial services in 1987 while simultaneously working as a mutual fund wholesaler with Monitrend Mutual Fund and as a managed commodities account wholesaler with Stotler & Company. Howard transitioned into banking in 1989 with First of America Bank as a Correspondent Banking Officer.
While at First of America, now PNC Bank, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Vice President. In 1997, Howard joined FirsTech, Inc. as Vice President and in 2000 was named President and joined the FirsTech Board of Directors. In 2010, Howard was named Chairman of the FirsTech Board as well as Executive Vice President of Cash Management. In January of 2014, he was named Chief Information Officer of First Busey Corporation.
Howard majored in communications at Illinois State University and while in the investment business, he obtained the Series 6 Securities license and Series 3 Commodities license. Today, he is a member of the Association for Financial Professionals, the Council for Electronic Billing and Payments as well as NACHA-the electronic payments association.
Jason Freeman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Relationship Manager
Jason started his banking career in 2001 working as a mortgage originator. In 2005, while working for National City Bank in Peoria IL, Jason transitioned into commercial banking. Jason worked as a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager and a Treasury Management Officer from 2005-11 for National City Bank and later PNC Bank.
Jason joined Busey Bank in July 2011 and became Executive Vice President and Cash Management Director in July 2013. Jason is responsible for all cash management sales and relationship management. In March of 2016 Jason was named Executive Vice President of Business Development and Relationship Management at FirsTech. Jason is now responsible for all new business development at FirsTech.
Jason graduated from Illinois State University with a BS in Political Science. In June of 2012, Jason became a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and is a member of the Association for Financial Professionals.
Bill Borrini, Executive Vice President
Bill has had a connection to FirsTech for over 20 years by having started his career with a former client in 1992. Bill held operational, client services, and IT positions with leading companies such as AT&T, Southwest Airlines, Wells Fargo, and HSBC.
As Executive Vice President of IT & Programming Bill is responsible for all aspects of Information Services and application development for FirsTech as well as Busey Bank. Through his tenure with the company FirsTech has expanded our product offering to include the latest in solutions while delivering unparalleled service and system availability.
FirsTech focuses on our customers and their immediate and future technology needs. Having managed FirsTech Client Services and Operations division for over 10 years Bill brings a customer centric approach to the products and services FirsTech develops and implements for our clients.
Bill studied Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing at Roosevelt University.
Vijay Krishnan, Senior Vice President Operations and Project Management
Vijay Krishnan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of FirsTech’s mission critical departments, establishing procedures and processes to ensure their smooth functioning, while providing timely operational information and assistance to the CEO. She is also responsible for the team that manages both internal and external projects, while assisting in the maintenance of current client relationships.
With almost two decades of combined experience in treasury management, payment processing, banking operations and customer service, Vijay works with both clients and the internal team to implement FirsTech’s strategic objectives. Prior to joining FirsTech, Ms. Krishnan was responsible for the treasury management services suite at a Midwestern bank working with both mid-size and corporate commercial clients. She currently holds the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designations.
Christen McLeod, AVP Client Relations and Project Management
Christen McLeod is responsible for developing, maintaining and growing FirsTech’s portfolio of business. She works with developing client service strategies, contract negotiations, and managing the execution of internal and external projects. The project management team is responsible for coordinating and managing projects, as well as management for all clients and prospective clients. Christen serves as the daily point of contact for FirsTech’s clients, leading initiatives and strategies through to implementation and offering solutions for the scope of the projects as well as ensuring client satisfaction. She has more than 8 years of client management, project management and customer service experience.
Prior to joining FirsTech, Christen was responsible for a team of recruiters who helped to implement staffing services to 120+ clients. She was the main contact and account manager for all clients, with the responsibility of ensuring efficiencies of key issues; cost, scope, and quality. She holds a BS in Business Marketing from Indiana University.
